Eclipse Season Missives

Last night (May 25, 2021), I found myself wide awake until at least three in the morning. I haven’t really fussed about my sleep cycle in a long time since, more often than not, I blame the lunation cycle for any disturbances. Last night was different compared to other full moons. Last night, my body ached — my arms and legs felt as though they’d been working harder than usual, like running a mile or carrying out vigorous physical labour from which I needed to recover. Having no possible explanation for the exhaustion, I chalked it up to the eclipse, which was perfecting the very next day. I thought that this could be some metaphorical physical release — months or even years of tension that had found a place within my body.

For the past few weeks, astro-Twitter and YouTube have been alight with postings about the upcoming eclipse pair, perfecting in the sky on May 26 and June 10 respectively (check your local listings). The lunar eclipse perfected today at 5° of Sagittarius, while the upcoming solar eclipse will occur on June 10, at 19° Gemini, while a retrograde Mercury is conjunct the Sun.

Jupiter will be the ruler of the May 26 lunar eclipse, which could bring certain life phases to culmination or close. I have heard varied commentary about the themes that this eclipse could highlight, but suggest putting more stock in where the eclipse falls in your natal chart for a more accurate picture of the house topics that it could activate.
