To the Picket Lines! The Astrology of Labour Unrest*
Hey star-gazers! Lately, I’ve been following the labour situation in the United Kingdom, watching the continuing roll of strikes announced by various unions into February and March of this year. With all the efforts last year to undermine organized labour attempts, particularly in the United States, coupled withmounting calls for pay increases among various public sector workers on both sides of the pond, I couldn’t help but wonder about the astrology of labour unrest.
If you’d prefer to watch the video version of this post, then head over to my YouTube channel where the charts discussed below are fully animated; otherwise, in this post, I’ll take a look at a couple of famous labour strikes — namely, the Chicago Railroad Strike of 1877 and the Winnipeg General Strike of 1919 — before looking at the winter solstice chart for the United Kingdom. In taking a peek at some of the signatures of previous labour upsets, we should keep in mind the role of the outer planets in sparking these types of challenging events. In the process, I hope some of the mundane astrological tips shared below will be helpful those interested in forecasting more general national events.
The Chicago Railroad Strike
The economic situation underpinning the 1877 Chicago Railway Strike was hardly favourable — and you don’t need astrology to know that one of the major drivers of any sort of labour unrest tends to boil down to the state of monetary affairs.
